Discover Coding a panel session.
Our next virtual meet up will be held as part of Sheffield Digital Festival.
Ever wondered about trading your current profession for life as a software/web developer? Maybe you thought you had to follow a certain path to get there? Perhaps you know a young person who dreams of becoming a developer but you have no idea how to encourage them in the right direction?
Join us on 17 November to hear 4 brilliant women share their stories of how they found their way into coding. Some may even surprise you!
Our panellists come from all walks of life, but they share a common love for coding and will be sure to inspire you.
Panelists:
A somewhat squiggly trajectory into tech, starting out with a languages degree that took me into the role of Translation Coordinator, followed by Project Coordinator, and then Languages Manager.
Studied programming on the side in my free time for a while, before eventually plucking up the courage to apply for a Junior Software Engineer position in the same company.

Lena Abdelsrahm – Freelance Web Developer
Initially an Electronics engineer with two years of practical experience, following my passion, I sought a career shift into Web Development. Enrolled in Three different Web development BootCamps in Ireland and the UK.
developed valuable Hand-On experience working on different projects individually and in a team using different techniques, however, I like working in a team, as I will be able to learn a lot more and a lot faster compared to working on your own. As the saying goes: ‘two heads are better than one’.
I love spending time fixing little details, building, and optimizing web apps, using my skills set in Programming languages.
